Gambia: Young Africans Coach Rubbishes Serekunda East Football Pitch

The head coach of Young Africans FC, German Mike Totzke, has described the Serekunda East Mini-Stadium pitch "as a farm yard which should be for farming purposes and not playing football".

Totzkewas speaking to this reporter shortly after his side's 1-0 defeat of Bakau United. He added that the pitch is not suitable for playing football but rather for farming "which you can grow potatoes, tomatoes and onions".

Speaking on the performance of his side, Totzke said they are currently on a process at their training ground where they worked on treating games one after the other. He added that they will be working hard to secure more wins in the league.

Kebab Jesper Touray of Bakau United for his part blasted his side for not playing up to expectation after a strong performance in their opening day defeat of Gambia Armed Forces. "In football if you don't respect your opponent there is nowhere you can go," he added.
