Gambia: CCO Gives to Sponsored Students

The Carter Charitable Organisation (CCO) based in the United Kingdom, on Wednesday presented gifts and educational materials to their sponsored pupils at Carter Nursery and Lower Basic School, at a presentation ceremonyat the school grounds in Tallinding.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Christine Carter disclosed that currently, theorganisation is sponsoring 141 pupils in the school. She thanked all those who have assisted in helping the needy and deserving children of the community of Tallinding, whilst commending the board of directors and teachers for the good work they are doing in the school.

For his part, Babou Gaye Sonko, the nominated National Assemly member, thanked the Carters for their contribution towards the educational needs of these children. He revealed that currently the Carter family is also constructing a storey building at the school and when completed it will comprise of classrooms and a medical clinic for the school children and the local community.

The chairman of the board of directors of the school, Bakary Sanneh; and Ousman Jorbarteh, the headmaster of the school both thanked the donors for their goodwill.
