Angola: Official Guarantees Conditions for Carnival Parade in Malanje

Malanje — The provincial director of culture in Malanje Province, Jones Zamba, guaranteed Monday, in this city, that there are conditions for a successful organisation of the 2013 edition of the carnival, to happen on February 10-11.

According to the official, the carnival groups in adult and infant categories have already received the support to prepare their parade.

The source explained that the costumes were already distributed and so were the monetary values, estimated at 90.000 Kwanzas for each group in the category of adults and 65.000 for each children's group.

Jones Zamba informed also that the draw for the parade of groups has already taken place, being awaited the arrival in the coming days of a member of the National Preparatory Committee in the province.

The parade of adults, with nine groups, will take place on February 10, while the children's category will compete on the 11th, with seven groups from the neighbourhoods of Katepa,

Kanâmbua, Maxinde, Vila Matilde, as well as the urban centre of Malanje City and Quela municipality.
