Egypt: SIS, UNDP Train Local Media Representatives On Covering Elections

The SIS and United Nations Development Program plan early in February 2013 to implement a training course targeting 140 media personnel on ways of covering the upcoming parliamentary elections.

SIS Chairman Ambassador Mohammad Badreddin Zayed said that representatives of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union, local media and space channels, government-owned, party-owned and independent newspapers have been invited to take part in the training course.

The course covers several topics including an introduction on the role of media during the elections, the role played by media correspondents, and the correspondents' code of ethics in covering elections.
