Egypt: Closure of U.S Embassy in Cairo Due to Security Reasons

The US Embassy in Cairo announced the suspending of all public services on Tuesday 29/1/2013 as a result of the current security situation surrounding the Embassy's primacies.

According to a statement by the US Embassy on Monday 28 January, suspension of activity includes all visa services and information center.

At the same time, the Embassy continued to provide emergency services to American citizens.

The US Embassy at "Garden City" near the site of clashes in Qasr al-nil bridge has opened its doors on Monday 28/1/2013 after it had closed on Sunday 27 January, to public services, such as visas.
