Egypt: Military Spokesman Denies Reports On Apprehending Hamas Elements in Port Said

The Military Spokesman Colonel Ahmed Ali said on Monday 28/1/2013 the deployment of the Armed Forces elements in the three Suez Canal cities aims only at protecting citizens out of the Armed Forces responsibility towards securing the homeland.

He said elements of the third field army have moved all prisoners in Ataqa prison in Suez to a safe prison following attempts by some outlaws to smuggle prisoners.

The military Spokesman denied reports that the Second Field Army troops have apprehended 200 Palestinians from Hamas movement while undertaking acts of sabotage.
