Eritrea: Anseba Region - Role of Area Administrators Described Vital in Adult Education

Keren — The Education Ministry's branch in Anseba region stated that the role of Area administrators is vital in promoting the impact of Adult Education Program. It further disclosed that there exist around 12,000 beneficiaries of the program in the region stationed in 350 sites.

Ms. Abrehet Gebre, head of Adult Education Program in the region, explained that enhanced supervision was applied so as to foster quality, ensuing exemplary accomplishment in various sub-zones such as Asmat, Halhal, Hagaz and Habero. Accordingly, remote localities such as Sel'a and Kerkebet areas require sound outreach strategies that overcome the prevalence of nomadic lifestyle of the majority of the inhabitants.

Furthermore, Ms. Abrehet called on the inhabitants to extend a helping hand towards combating illiteracy, and local Administrators to step up participation in community sensitization activities in this regard.
