Nigeria: Afcon - Jonathan Lauds Eagles, Urges Them to Go for Gold

President Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated the Super Eagles after the 2-0 defeat of Ethiopia at the Royal Bafokeng stadium in Rustenburg, Tuesday, and eventual qualification for the quarter final of the African Nations Cup holding in South Africa.

In a tweet by Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, Jonathan urged the team to for for gold as the competition enters elimination stages.

The tweet:

"Pres. Jonathan congratulates the Super Eagles on their well deserved victory in the match against Ethiopia today. He urges them to go 4 Gold"
