Angola: Over 2,000 Cases of HIV Recorded in 2012

Ondjiva — At least 2,114 cases of HIV/AIDS were diagnosed during 2012 in six districts of the southern Cunene province, said the local director of Health, Eleutério Hivilikua.

According to the official, the above cases is the result of 35, 699 tests conducted in various Voluntary Counselling and Testing Centre of HIV/AIDS in the region.

Those who conducted tests include pregnant women with HIV positive who benefitted form Mother-to-child HIV transmission cut.
