Angola Soccer Team to Return Home Tuesday

Luanda — The national soccer team will return home this Tuesday after a poor performance at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON2013), happening in South Africa.

The Sable Antelopes lost 1-2 to Cape Verde, in Port Elizabeth province, thus failing to get the pass to the quarterfinals of the competition.

In three matches, Angola suffered two defeats, 0-2 with South Africa, and 1-2 with Cape Verde, plus a 0-0 draw with Morocco.

At the AFCON2012 championship in Equatorial Guinea, Angola also did not manage to go beyond the group stage. The Angolan squad's best campaign happened in 2008, in Ghana, and 2010, when they reached the quarter-finals.
