South Africa: Press Statement On the Strike Action By Fawu Members At the Letaba Citrus Processors Pty Led in Limpopo

176 members of the Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU) have commenced protected industrial action in support of their demands in Letaba Citrus Processors Pty Ltd in Limpopo as from the 28th January 2013.

Workers demand 13% in wages hike while the employer is prepared to offer 5.8% while workers want a compulsory 13th Cheque while the employer wants to use their discretion in paying or not paying this annual bonus.

We call on the employer to return back to the negotiating table so as to find settlement to the issues in dispute.
