Nigeria: Ogun PDP Files Contempt Charge Against Oyinlola

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has filed a contempt charge against the sacked General Secretary of the PDP, Olagunsoye Oyinlola in an Abuja Federal High Court.

The Engineer Adebayo Dayo-led faction of the party wants Oyinlola imprisoned for one year for alleged contempt of court.

Oyinlola was removed as the General Secretary of the PDP by an order of Justice Abdul Kafarati of an Abuja Federal High Court on the ground that due process was not followed in his election.

The Ogun state PDP said through their counsel Mr R.A. Oluyede Esq. that all actions of Oyinlola since the order was made, "amounts to criminal contempt and they may be liable for committal to prison."
