Angola: Interior Ministry to Probe Into Allegations of Bad Treatment of Inmates

Luanda — The Ministry of the Interior is to launch a probe into recent allegations of bad treatment of inmates in some prisons of the country, which comes in reaction of a video posted in the social network.

The institution has already guaranteed that if these allegation are true, they represent a blatant violation of the law, regulations and the practices within the prisons of Angola.

A press note from the Ministry of the Interior, which reached ANGOP on Tuesday, states that in line with the principle of truth and serious information work, an enquiry is already underway aimed at finding the veracity of the matter, for the subsequent accountability of the people involved.

The institution also pledged to reveal the results of the probe has soon as it is concluded.
