Zambia: Muna Singh, Malauni Appointed FIA Stewards

THE International Automobile Federation (FIA) Africa has appointed Zambia's Muna Singh and Max Malauni as stewards for three of the eight African Rally Championship (ARC) events lined up on this season's calendar.

According to appointments for the eight rallies, Muna will be steward at the KCB Safari Rally set for July 5-7 and the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally slated for September 20-22 and Malauni for the Rally of Tanzania billed for June 14-16.

Double African champion Muna was FIA steward at the 2011 Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally while Malauni has been Zambia Motor Sport Association (ZMSA) steward for the Zambia International Rally.

The ARC starts on the weekend of March 1-3 with the Rally Bandama Ivory Coast which will be followed by the Sasol Rally South Africa, Zambia International Rally and Rally of Tanzania.

The rest of the rallies that complete the 2013 ARC series are KCB Safari Rally Kenya, Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally and International Madagascar Rally.

Zambia's Mohammed Essa scooped the African title for the first time last year aboard a Madison/Puma Energy Subaru Impreza N12B and is favourite to retain the crown this year.
