Kenya: Aspirant Tells Off UDF, Says He Will Win Mombasa Seat

MOMBASA governor aspirant Suleiman Shahbal yesterday dismissed efforts to frustrate his bid saying he will win the seat.

Speaking in a campaign rally in Likoni yesterday, Shahbal told-off UDF's Kelvin Kwena, who has asked the IEBC to disqualify him.

"They have tried to stop us but we are focused on winning. They have failed to deliver but now change is coming," he said.

Kwena asked the IEBC to disqualify Shahbal saying he has been issued with two certificates by UDF and Wiper. Shahbal also visited bereaved families of the Likoni Ferry tragedy which left four people dead at the weekend.

He promised to revamp the ferry services and to create more links to the South Coast region to ease pressure at the Likoni Crossing Channel.

Shahbal will face transport assistant minister Ali Hassan Joho (ODM), Abdalla Mwaruwa (TNA), Ibrahim Khamis Babangida (RC) and independent candidates Tendai Mtana, Chibule wa Tsuma and Suleiman Ghalib in the polls.
