Kenya: Dadaab Gang Shoots Red Cross Official

A Kenya Red Cross vehicle was on Mon- day afternoon ambushed by a suspected al Shabaab militia group in Dadaab, Garissa.

Speaking to the Star on phone yesterday, county commissioner Maalim Mohamed said the vehicle was heading for Dadaab town when a group of four militias sprayed it with bullets hitting one official in the leg.

He said police are still pursuing the attackers whose intent was to carjack the vehicle and cross with it to Somalia. "We are following up on crucial leads," he said.
