Kenya: 175,000 Face Starvation in Kwale Drought

KWALE may experience the worst food shortage this year, a drought management officer has warned. Mohamed Keinan said more than 145,000 residents are currently in need of relief food in the county.

Keinan said the food shortage was caused by the poor long and short rains received in the region in the last two years. He was speaking during the district steering group committee meeting in Kwale yesterday.
