Zimbabwe: Chez Ntemba Scouts for Models

Organisers of the Miss Chez Ntemba have started scouting for would-be models for the pageant that will be held on February 14. Those who wish to compete should be at least 1,7 metres tall, aged over 21, possess good looks and some curves. About 20 models will strut their stuff on the ramp on Valentine's Day at the leading nightclub.

"We are excited to bring back the beauty contest which has been running for the last two years. Registration is now underway at the club and all those who wish to take part should do so, the earlier the better.

"This year we are looking for 20 women who will compete for the title. The contest is not restricted to professional models only but to those who know how to flaunt their stuff on the ramp," Sandra Mukosi, the promoter of the show, said.

Sandra said although the judges will not be fussy about weight or height, they will be strict about age.

"As you know Chez Ntemba is a no under 21 international club and so we are not going to allow those below 21 years to enter the pageant. Last year, we had an overwhelming response and this year we want to double the prizes," she said.

Asked about the prizes, Sandra could not say what sort of prizes were up for grabs but hinted that the prizes would be attractive.

"At this point I can't say much since we are still in talks with our sponsors but obviously we are going to dish out fabulous prizes. Whoever wins the contest will become the face of Chez Ntemba and they get to appear on all our adverts," she said.

There will be a lot of music courtesy of Chez Ntemba's number one disc jockey Dollar Bill as well as Ben and Luckers. Chez Ntemba is probably the biggest rhumba nightclub in Harare which has stood the test of time. At any given weekend the club fills up to capacity with rhumba fans on the lower deck while on the upper deck it will be a mixed bag of R&B, house and dancehall.
