Birnin Kebbi — Over 1,500 job seekers applied for the 200 available positions at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Birnin Kebbi, Daily Trust gathered.

Medical Director of the FMC, Dr Abdullahi Ibrahim, said consultant physicians in all the specialties, senior registrars in all the specialties of medicine, pharmacy and pharmacists technician, medical laboratory scientist ,medical laboratory technicians, radiographers, dentists , dental technologists and dental therapists as well as nurses were the positions advertised.

He also debunked claims that nurses in the hospital are suffering from high blood pressure and arthritis due to under staffing and extra work.

"I don't think it is correct because it is only in Nigeria that nurses work for five days, after which they are given off duty. If you look around the world, there is no where you will work for five days night and they will give you five days off. Which shows that the off days for especially night duty is high in Nigeria", he said.
