Nigeria: LG Boss Warns Owners of Uncompleted Buildings

Ado-Ekiti — Authorities of Ado Local Government Area of Ekiti State have warned owners of uncompleted buildings in the council area to either develop or have them confiscated.

Chairman of the council, Sunday Ibitoye, who gave the warning yesterday while addressing newsmen on activities of the council in the past one year, lamented that undeveloped plots have turned into hideouts for criminals.

Ibitoye, who said such structures were also defacing the state, added, "When we realized that there were many undeveloped plots in Ado Ekiti, we started placing signposts on them to state that they have been taken over by the council and shortly after this, the owners started surfacing to beg us. We will no longer tolerate such."

He further stated that the council in partnership with private investors has purchased and distributed customized dustbins to control illegal dumping of refuse.
