Gambia: PS Sanyang Calls for Timely Payment of Rates, Taxes in WCR

The permanent secretary No.2 at the Ministry of Regional Administration, Lands and Traditional Rulers has challenged authorities in the West Coast Region (WCR) to continue putting more emphasis on the timely payment of rates, taxes and other dues to the Brikama Area Council.

Saikou Sanyang was speaking recently during a meeting with the local authorities at the Governor's Office, as part of Minister Momodou Aki Bayo's nationwide tour of institutions under the purview of the Ministry of Regional Administration, Lands and Traditional Rulers.

The timely payment of taxes, according to PS Sanyang will enable theCouncil to deliver its social responsibilities to the people of the region. He went on to remind the local authoritiesthat payment of rates and taxes to the Council is a civic duty and should be given a priority at all times. He also called on the communities in the region to always ensure timely and regular payment of dues to Council.
