Kenya: Iteere Cleared Over Waiganjo Saga

The commission investigating police imposter Joshua Waiganjo has reccomended the sacking of Rift Valley PPO John M'mbijiwe and ASTU boss Remy Ngugi over the Waiganjo affair.

The team has however cleared former commissioner of police Mathew Iteere and lifted the suspension on Njoro OCPD Njeru Nthiga for their alleged role in abetting Waiganjo's activities.

Waiganjo who is currently in remand in Naivasha, is accused of masquerading as a Deputy PPO for the past five years. An Independent commission was set up to investigate how he was able to operate as a senior police officer without detection.

The commission has presented its findings to the National Police Service Commission today. The National Police Service Commission suspended Rift Valley PPO John M'Mbijiwe, Anti Stock Theft Unit boss Remi Ngugi and Njoro OCPD Njeru Nthiga over the Waiganjo saga
