Kenya: Safaricom Says It Has Completed Switching Off Fake Phones

All unregistered SIM cards on the Safaricom network have been switched off. 1.3 million more SIM cards were switched off in the second phase bringing to 2.5 million suspended SIM cards. According to CCK, as of the 11th of January Yu mobile had about 2 million unregistered SIM cards, Orange about 1.5 million and Airtel about 1.9 million. If your line has been switched off you have 90 days to register it, failure to which it will be assigned to another customer.
