An Egyptian court ordered on Thursday the release of former agriculture minister Youssef al-Waly for passing the legal detention period pending investigation in a corruption case.
A court had accepted the appeals of Waly and former Prime Minister Atef Ebeed against their sentences, granting them retrials in corruption cases related to an Island in Luxor.
The former agriculture minister is currently awaiting a prosecution order to release him, his attorney told Aswat Masriya.
