Egypt: Gov't Approves Increasing Pensions As of July, 2012

Insurance and Social Affairs Minister Nagwa Khalil said on Wednesday 30/1/2013 that the Cabinet approved a presidential decree to increase pensions as of July 2012.

Speaking at a press conference held after a Cabinet meeting, Khalil said that about 3 million pensioners will benefit from this decision.

The minister pointed out that increasing pensions will be as of 2005 by 20 per cent instead of 15 per cent, adding the money differences sum will be cashed as of July 1, 2012.
