Liberia: Muslims Celebrate Holy Day

On Tuesday January 29, 2013, Muslims from across Montserrado County gathered in observance of the death of their prophet Mohammed.

During the celebration, the General Overseer and Executive Director of Jafaria Development in Liberia (JDL) Mohammed O. Bah disclosed that one of the objectives of the gathering was to remind Muslims about the death of their prophet and the way he live during his sojourn on Earth.

The Executive Director of LID told the gathering that most Muslims have failed to recognize the actual date of the death of their prophet and some of those great things he did.

According to him, Muslims should observe the prophet's death each year as one of the important days in the history of Islam.

The JDL Executive Director wants Muslims in various communities to give priority to the celebration of the death of their holy prophet believing that when that when this is done, it will unite the Muslim communities.
