Kenya: Four Rhinos Killed At Lake Nakuru Park

Two rhinos were found shot deat at Lake Nakuru National Park on Monday night. The dead pair were found with their horns hacked off on Tuesday morning by rangers who also found spent high calibre rifle cartridges at the scene.

Sources confirmed that yet another pair of rhinos were poached two weeks ago at the same park. In yet another incident, one rhino was poached on Solio Ranch last week.

According to sources, the rhino was shot seven times and its horns hacked off. That makes a total of five rhinos lost in the last two weeks alone.

No arrests have been made thus far and Kenya Wildlife Services were unavailable for comment. With less than 1,000 rhinos in Kenya, there is concern that they could be wiped out if something is not done fast.
