Kenya: Actors Monologue First Edition Starts On a High Note

The first edition of the Actors Monologue challenge took place on Tuesday night at Club Silk.

The competition saw 16 actors present both self-composed monologues and films and stage plays by other authors. This created a nice blend of great performances to be showcased at the challenge.

Some of the familiar faces that participated in the competition included Nick Ndeda, Nice Githinji, Gerald Langiri and Chrystal Kibukosya. Following her wonderful performance of pieces from different actors, Sharlyn Shi Mungai won the inaugural championship title.

"The performances were very well presented. From what we saw it is clear that our industry is really growing. Especially judging from how they delivered some of their monologues lifted from international films. It sounded almost believable,"said one of the judges Mugambi Nthiga. Nthiga is currently in the limelight for his star performance in the hit movie Nairobi Half Life .

The next competition's date will be announced on social media.
