Kenya: Maseno Festival Attracts Top Sides

THE annual Maseno Open sports festival will be held this weekend at Maseno School on the outskirts of Kisumu town. According to the Maseno School Talent Center, cordinator, Peter Francis Otieno, the participating teams will use the festival as a buiold-up for the season.

This year, the festival has attracted several teams from across the country. Among the institutions invited are Unicef-sponsored Talanta FC, St. Antony's High, Kitale, Olympic Secondary, Langata High, Lenana School, Sunshine, Nairobi, Tartar, Kapenguria, Kyangala (Machakos County) and Maseno university among others. Otieno said the tournament will feature football, Sevens rugby, basketball and hockey.

The school principal Paul Otula said: "This is the best organised and attended tournament in the country."
