Genocide Suspect Leon Mugesera has declined a special offer for treatment at King Faisal Hospital, Kigali.

Judges at the Special Chamber of the High Court were, yesterday, notified of Mugesera's refusal to undergo medical check-up at the hospital by the Kigali Prison Services.

Mugesera claimed he did not refuse, but that he already had a doctor from Muhima Hospital attending to him.

"The other reason is because I didn't want the prosecution to impose on me where I get treatment from," he said.

Prosecution denied imposing the facility on Mugesera, saying the extradition agreement guarantees special prison services.

Mugesera on Tuesday asked for a two-day bed rest, but yesterday, claimed the rest was interfered with. The trial resumes on Monday.
