Angola: Official Start of 2013 Academic Year Postponed

Luanda — The official opening of the 2013-2014 academic year, initially scheduled for this Thursday, was postponed for February 05, due to technical problems, informed in Luanda the consultant of the Education minister, Joaquim Cabral.

The opening ceremony, which will be chaired by the Vice President, Manuel Vicente, will include the inauguration of a new school in Ramiros ward, Belas Municipality, in Luanda.

For this academic year, the Education Ministry admitted 7.426 primary teachers, 7.972 secondary school teachers, 172 inspectors, 395 administrative and assistance staffs, totalling 18.663 new employees.

ANGOP has learnt that the new teachers will attend upgrading seminars.
