Nigeria: Kaduna - Armed Robbers Kill Five Policemen, Rob Banks

Armed bandits numbering about 20 attacked a police station in Birnin-Gwari, the headquarters of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna state, killing five policemen.

The bandits, according sources launched the attack on the police station around 1:00 am after which they proceeded to branches of two commercial banks in the town where they reportedly used explosives to blow open the doors and strong rooms of the banks.

"The came around I:00am and operated until around 5:00am this morning without being apprehended by the army or police," said a source privy to the attack.
