Nigeria: FG Warns Varsity Students Against Cultism

Abakaliki — THE Federal Government, Thursday, warned students of Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ikwo, to desist from cultism, ritual practices and other social vices capable of tarnishing the image of the institution and derailing the objective behind their stay in the university.

Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, who handed down the warning when members of the Good Governance Tour team paid a visit to the institution, charged the newly admitted students of the university to diligently pursue their studies and be good ambassadors of the country.

He described as shameful a situation where students engage in ritual practices and violence in the name of cultism, while their counterpart in other countries ,especially in the developed world as Japan,

engage in serious academic pursuits and scientific discoveries.
