Nigeria: Kogi Federal Lawmakers Protest Poor State of Roads

Three federal legislators from Kogi State yesterday went to the Ministry of Works to register their grievances on the deplorable state of roads in the state.

They are Senator Smart Adeyemi (PDP, Kogi West), Honourables Tajudeen Yusuf (PDP, Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu) and Sunday Karimi (PDP, Yagba Federal Constituency).

Leading the talks with Works Minister Mike Onolememen and his directors, Adeyemi decried the poor condition of the Obajana-Kabba-Ilorin road, saying the constituents attempted to bar all the federal lawmakers from the area from celebrating the last Christmas and New Year due to the poor condition of roads there.

Responding, Onolememen assured that the road would be rehabilitated this year as adequate provision had already been made for it in the 2013 budget.
