Zimbabwe: Pete Bowls Tourney Underway

THE Pete Conner Pairs Bowls tournament entered its fourth week yesterday with the top eight pairs teams competing for the trophy at Alexandra Sports Club in Harare. The competition, which has more than 40 participants, is expected to end in two weeks' time. Bennie Wine and Heather Singleton are the current champions. Some of the players battling for honours are Ivin Pitout, Colin Robertson, Dereck Robinson, Manuel Silva, Ray Whitney, Dru Smith, Tony Havercroft and Jack Shiel. Smith said she is enjoying the competitive and exciting tournament.

"I am enjoying the game, it is competitive and exciting," said Smith. While other bowls are taking part in the Pete Conner, others are preparing for the CABS Mixed Pairs Bowls tournament which will enter the fifth and sixth rounds at the weekend.
