Kenya: Three Police Officers Injured in Dadaab

Three Kenya Police officers were injured yesterday when an explosive device hit their car. The incident occurred in the Ifo refugee camp in Dadaab.

The attackers who used an improvised explosive device then shot at the vehicle before fleeing. The injured police officers were rushed to the Dadaab district hospital where they are receiving treatment for minor injuries.

The attack follows a similar incident in which a Kenya Red Cross Service (KRCS) ambulance was attacked along the Dagahley - Dadaab road on Monday afternoon road by four gunmen who shot at the vehicle injuring the driver and a paramedic on board.

Meanwhile the Kenyan and Ethiopian governments have deployed security along the common border following the killing of seven suspected bandits in Turkana North. Area Police boss Benson Nyakwaka said security has been tightened along the border to avert counter attacks.
