Kenya: President Kibaki May Stay in Power Till June

President Kibaki may stay in power up to June if the outcome of the March 4th elections is successfully challenged in court. Head of Public Service Francis Kimemia says the president may be sworn in on June 18th if the supreme court declares the presidential elections invalid.

The law says a fresh elections shall be held within 60 days after the determination. The president - elect will however be sworn in on the 26th of March if he wins the first round and no petition is filed.
