Namibia: Two Appear for Gruesome Rape and Murder

Windhoek — Two men appeared in the Katutura Magistrate's Court yesterday for allegedly stabbing a woman to death. Her naked body was discovered by passersby in a riverbed between Okuryangava and the Lafrenz Industrial Area last week Friday.

The deceased is said to have sustained 50 stab wounds to various parts of her body. Samuel Boois and Collins Raymond Uirab, both aged 24 years, appeared before Magistrate Cosmos Endjala on a charge of murder.

The two allegedly assaulted the woman sexually before stabbing her all over the body. Meanwhile, according to other news reports the woman has been identified as 29-year-old Patricia Kooper.

The matter was remanded to March 26 for the two young men to apply for legal aid. Menencia Hinda represented the state.
