Angola: Commerce Minister Invited to Participate in FAO Conference

Luanda — The minister of Commerce, Rosa Pacavira, was invited by the Director-General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), José Graziano da Silva, to participate in one of the three meetings of the institution scheduled for this year, in Rome, Italy.

The official made the invitation personally during an audience with the Angolan minister, with whom he discussed the forms of accelerating the elaboration of the law on cooperatives and the importance of quickly debating the matter with civil society, as well as cooperation and implementation of various programmes.

Speaking to ANGOP, the director of FAO stated that the Angolan Government policies centred in fighting poverty are efficient, which will allow eradicating hunger.

On the other hand the Angolan government official thanked the invitation and explained that the meeting with the FAO boss is the culmination of a cooperation work being done for years.
