THIEVES yesterday broke into Stanbic Bank Chipata Branch and caused panic among customers after management temporarily suspended operations.
Eastern Province police chief Grace Chipalila and Stanbic Bank head of public relations Kamiza Chikula confirmed the robbery in separate interviews yesterday.
Ms Chipalila said police officers were still investigating to establish how much had been stolen.
The bandits broke into the bank through the roof.
