Namibia: Coaches Receive International Certificates

The Deputy Head of the German Embassy, André Scholz recently handed over coaching certificates to Jacky Shipanga, head coach of the National Women's team, and Gerald GÃther, coach of MTC Premier League outfit, Eleven Arrwos.

The two coaches successfully completed a three-week International Coaching Course organised by the German Football Association (DFB) in Hennef, Germany in April/May 2012.

Shipanga and GÃther were amongst the best performers in the course.

Also present at the hand over ceremony was Klaus Stärk, German soccer expert and Technical Director of the Namibian Football Association.

The International Coaching Course was held in Hennef, Germany with thirty five participants from more than twenty countries. It is part of a programme organised jointly by DFB and the Federal Foreign Office.

The course has proven to be effective in developing coaching skills. Participants praised organisers for the opportunity to attend the course. Said Güther: "We are grateful for the amazing opportunity to meet people from other countries." Shipanga was also grateful, and thanked the German Embassy for the continued support of Namibian soccer.
