Kenya: Teso Family Tragedy As Ligthing Kills One, Injures Four

BUNGOMA Tragedy befell a Teso family on Wednesday afternoon when lightning struck their home, killing one person and injuring four.

Alice Imwana, 22, died on the spot while four others were rushed to Kocholia district hospital after the incident. that shocked residents of Kocholia location.

Area chief Dismas Ouma said Margaret Inya was mudding her grass thatched house when lightning struck in the 4pm incident.

Ouma said he was a victim of lightning in 2007 and appealed to residents to plant trees which act as lightning barriers.

Malaba police moved the body to Bungoma district hospital mortuary as they launched investigations into the vice.

He appealed to the government to build lightning arrestors in the area.
