Kenya will host international children karate championship in May. Five countries have confirmed participation for the event to be held at Utalii College. Tanzania, Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Malawi will all send participants to the event which will be open to age group between 8- 18 years.
In view of the event, Kenya Karate Federation (KKF) will hold training camp for Kenyan players ahead of the tournament. The training is being conducted by Sensei Peter Ochieng who is a third degree belt holder with assistance of sensei Gregory Oluoch, a fifth degree belt holder. Ochieng said he expects the Kenya team to perform well. Ochieng the planned 3-month training period will be adequate to field a very strong squad for the tournament.
