Egypt: Clashes Erupt At Presidential Palace

Live footage broadcast on the CBC channel on Friday showed clashes erupting between security forces and protesters who rallied in front of the presidential palace.

The footage also showed protesters hurling stones and petrol bombs at security forces who retaliated by firing water cannons to disperse these protesters.

Trees in front of the palace caught fire.

A number of protesters tried to climb over one of the gates but the republican guard stopped them, the Middle East New Agency reported.
