Angola: Distinguishing Carnival Groups Encourages Cultural Development

Namibe — The secretary of State for Culture, Cornélio Calei, said Thursday in this city that the homage to carnival groups aims at distinguishing those who gave more joy to people through the titles they won in the central and provincial carnival parades.

Speaking at the homage ceremony of carnival group "Torre do Tombo", Cornélio Calei added that this homage serves also to encourage society to work more for the development of carnival.

The secretary of State for Culture stated that Angolans need a carnival which retrieves the values of the ancestors.
