Angola: Bic Bank Manager Defends Reduction of Meat Import

Lubango — The CEO with BIC bank, Fernando Teles, on Friday here said he does not understand the reason why the country still importing farming products if there are provinces that have capacity to do so, Angop has learnt.

The manager said so in Lubango, at the inauguration of one more BIC bank branch, adding that it is necessary that Angola gives up importing farming products, once there are conditions for production of meat, milk, among others diaries.

Fermando Teles said Huila province has necessary conditions to produce and make reducing imports of farming products, as there are farmers with capacity of investing in the sector.

He said that the Angolan Executive have been calling for the need for diversifying the national production, therefore it is necessary to start reducing the imports of products such as meat, milk, eggs and also potatoes.
