Nigeria: Chime to Resume Duties Within 10 Days, Says Akpabio

Gov. Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom said in Ikeja on Friday that his Enugu State counterpart, Mr Sullivan Chime, who had been receiving treatment abroad, would return home within 10 days time.

Apkabio made the announcement while speaking with reporters at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on arrival from London.

He stated that Chime was well and capable of governing Enugu State, assuring that Chime would return to the Enugu State Government House in the next 10 days.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akpabio visited Chime in a London hospital along with the Governors of Benue and Rivers, Mr Gabriel Suswan and Mr Rotimi Ameachi.

Akpabio denied allegations that the Nigerian Governors' Forum (NGF) was gradually becoming a cartel and working against the Federal Government and people of Nigeria.

Describing such allegation as baseless, Akpabio said he would not be party to any association or forum that would attempt to bring down President Goodluck Jonathan and his team.
