Nigeria: Police Declare Maina Wanted

For failing to appear before the Senate Joint Committee on the investigation of Customs, Immigration and Prison Pension Office (CIPPO) fund, the Police Friday declared Abdulrasheed Maina wanted.

The Senate had on December 13, 2012, issued a Warrant of Arrest, mandating the Inspector-General of Police to arrest and produce Alhaji Maina before the Senate Joint Committee on the Investigation of Pension Fund.

Since then, the subject has gone into hiding, making it difficult for the Police to execute the warrant. In a release signed by the Force spokesperson, Frank Mba, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Inspector General of Police (IG) has directed all Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs), Commissioners of Police (CPs) and other heads of department to spread their net and ensure the man is arrested within the shortest period of time.
