Luanda — Three more Boeing 77 300 ER planes estimated at Akz 3.5 billion each will be purchased until 2016 by the Angola Airlines (TAAG), Angop learned Friday in Luanda.
The information was released by TAAG CEO, Araújo Pimentel.
The Airline official was speaking at the end of a meeting the Transport minister, Augusto da Silva Tomás, had with the CEO of the US company General Electric (GE), Jeff Immelt.
Pimentel Araújo explained that the contract signed with Boeing on 27 March 2011 covers the purchase of three more airplanes, with the first expected delivered in May 2014, the second in December 2015 and the third in March 2016.
The company's CEO added that the company will also buy another three planes with delivery arrangements made for 2019/2020. But the planes could well be delivered earlier, should the expansion of the company so demand, the source added.
