Fees of the Suez Canal transit will increase between 2% and 5% depending on the type of the vessels as of next May, said Suez Canal Authority Chairman Mohab Mamish.
Fees will increase by 5% for vessels carrying crude oil, petroleum products, chemicals and bulk cargo; 2% for container ships and roll-on roll-off carriers and 3% for any other kinds of vessels, Mamish said in a press release.
